| Chassis Update 05/10 |
Chassis Progress 12/09Since the last update, the chassis has been completed, with only small mounts left to be added. The finished chassis came together just after Christmas, then suspension and engine mounts were added. The complete frame weighed in at 30kg, with mounts, an decrease of 8kg over last year. With the frame complete, the suspension mounts had to be added. These were set at angles specified by the suspension team and welded to the frame. And then engine mounts. The next stage for us is to paint the chassis once the final mounting points are on, and then assemble the car |

Well the car runs! Testing has been successful both at the local speedway track and in the carparks. Our drivers have been selected (Stan Smith, Pierpaolo Corsini, Alejandro Balbastro and Anna Dugard) and now have the task of getting to grips with our faster than expected car for the competition in a couple of days time. The car has had extensive testing on the rolling road and we have achieved a very decent peak power of 90.2 BHP. Sorry for the lack of updates, especially to the loyal nosecone club members, your faces are being printed for the nosecone as we speak! The team also attended the Festival of Speed at Goodwood which was a superb weekend, with team members meeting some of the F1 elites. We had lots of interest in the car and all topped up our tans to boot. Photos are in the gallery. One last thing is we're heading up on wednesday, so if you are attending over the weekend (16th - 19th) come pay us a visit in the pits. |
